Artist Bio:
Chelsea Sanford is a born and raised Oregonian who currently lives in Central
Oregon with her lovely partner and 3 amazing fur babies. She has been using
fibers through creation since she was 6 years old and was taught by her
grandmother. Her passion for embroidery and hand quilting took a turn for the
serious during the pandemic. Her work evolved from small embroidery pieces to
much larger quilted pieces. All of these she creates completely by hand. She
strives to use ‘new-to-her’ fabric and materials to curb the fiber waste in the
world, while also allowing the materials she has on hand to inspire her work! Her
pieces speak to her ongoing battle with mental health, her queer identity, and her
ties to the communities she is a part of. Her art is a reflection of who she is to the
fullest.
There is a minimum 2 people to run this workshop.
