Sew Easy: Fit to You — Alterations 101
Saturday, July 18 · 1:00–4:00 PM
That pile of clothes that almost fits perfectly? It's time to do something about it.
In this intimate, hands-on workshop, professional seamstress Sabrina of Bend Alterations will guide you through the art of altering your own garments — so the clothes you already own finally fit the way they should.
Over 3 hours, you'll learn techniques including:
- Hemming
- Adding darts
- Shortening straps
- Shortening sleeves with cuffs
- Taking in sides
- Changing a neckline
This is an extra-small class — just 5 students maximum — designed to give you plenty of one-on-one time with Sabrina, who brings over 45 years of professional sewing experience and a genuine love of teaching to every class.
What to bring: Bring 1–2 garments from your own wardrobe that you'd like to alter. We encourage you to bring your own sewing machine so you can continue making alterations at home — and because every machine is a little different, practicing on yours makes the skills stick.
Please note: Basic sewing machine knowledge is required. This class is not suitable for stretch fabrics. If you need to borrow a machine, please indicate that at checkout and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Class size: 2 minimum, 5 maximum. This class may be cancelled if the minimum enrollment is not met.
