Paper Spirals: The Art of Quilling
Roll, Shape, and Create at Freakn Art!
Date: Tuesday, August 25th
Time: 5:30 - 7:00 PM
Who knew a simple strip of paper could become a 3D masterpiece? Join us at Freakn Art for a mesmerizing introduction to paper Quilling—the art of rolling and shaping thin paper strips into intricate, swirling designs.
This class is perfect for kids ages 8 and up who love detail, color, and making cool crafts that pop off the page!
What’s the Twist?
Quilling is like drawing with paper instead of a pencil. In this workshop, your artist will:
1.) Master the Tools: Learn how to use a slotted quilling tool to create the perfect "tight coil" and "loose scroll."
2.) Shape-Shifting: Discover how to pinch and press paper coils into teardrops, hearts, diamonds, and marquise shapes.
3.) Composition: Arrange their colorful shapes into a vibrant piece of cardstock art—think 3D flowers, scrolling initials, or even mini paper animals.
4.) Precision & Patience:** Develop fine motor skills and focus while creating something incredibly delicate and impressive.
Take-Home: A framed quilled masterpiece or a set of custom-made 3D greeting cards.
Skill Level: No experience required! If you can roll a piece of paper, you can quill.
Fun Fact: Paper quilling has been around for hundreds of years, but we’re giving it a modern, colorful Freakn Art upgrade. It’s surprisingly addictive—once you start rolling, you won’t want to stop!
Ready to get rolling? Come hang out with us in the studio and see how many amazing things you can create with just a little paper and a lot of imagination!
