FREAK'N Kids Studio: Wearable Art Camp
Explore the wonderful world of wearable art in this hands-on, creative camp!
When: Monday–Thursday, July 13–16 | 9:30 AM–12:00 PM
Led by artist Anastasia Zielinski
This week, young artists will find inspiration from the annual International Wearable Art Competition in New Zealand as well as contemporary artists like Nick Cave and his famous Sound Suits. Students will design and create their own wearable art using the tools and materials available in the studio.
Camp activities include:
-
Designing Wearable Art: Brainstorm and sketch unique concepts inspired by international wearable art and contemporary artists.
-
Construction & Creation: Bring designs to life using a variety of materials, textures, and techniques.
-
Mini Fashion Show: Showcase creations on the final day in a brief, fun fashion show for family and friends.
Students will develop creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression while exploring the intersection of art, design, and performance.
Each participant will leave with a wearable artwork of their own creation and memories from a week of imaginative experimentation!
