Kids Studio!
When: Wednesdays, February 4th through 25th, 1:30pm to 3:30pm
What: Unleash your child's creativity with Kids Studio! Each 2-hour session is packed with fun and artistic exploration.
- February 4th through 25th, Celebrating Black History Month
In this session students will learn about a variety of influential Black artists, and create works inspired by their different styles and processes each time we meet! We will create a pointillism landscape painting with bold colors, a silhouette drawing with pattern, shapes and symbols, a heart box 'assemblage' with mixed media materials, and a paper weaving project with portraiture.

This Kids Studio session is led by Kat Rains.
Who: Kids aged 7-12
All materials are included. Please send your child with a snack and clothes that can get a little messy.

About The Artist:
Originally from North Carolina, Kat holds a degree in Art Education and spent two years teaching elementary art there. She recently relocated to Bend to pursue an opportunity in food and garden education. Kat's artistic practice is influenced by the lush flora and fauna of the Western North Carolina mountains where her family lives and the striking contrasts of the high desert landscape she now calls home. Passionate about the intersection of gardening and creative expression, she finds inspiration from working with living materials and is excited to explore the ways they inspire and inform her creative process.
