Introduction to Botanical Illustration with Graphite and Watercolor

Take a deep dive into botanical illustration in this 2-day course with Jeanne Debons. Through a series of clear, step-by-step techniques and approachable steps you'll learn to capture realistic botanical subjects using graphite and watercolor.
Day 1, learn the fundamentals of botanical illustration including an introduction to materials, drawing methods, understanding light and form, and working with graphite. Day 2, build on your knowledge and explore color mixing, and watercolor application. All required materials will be provided.
Instructor: Jeanne Debons
Jeanne Debons holds a Ph.D. in Botany and Plant Pathology and earned a diploma in Botanical Illustration from the English Gardening School. Combining her scientific background with artistic training, she brings a deep understanding of plants to her work. Jeanne teaches widely and has exhibited her work in local shows. Her method follows the structured, multi-step technique developed by Anne Marie Evans, ideal for beginners.
