Use this traditional material to create a spooky forest painting!
India Ink is a traditional medium that has been used by artists since around 3000 BC. In this workshop we will explore the medium to produce emotional monochromatic paintings. We will learn how to mix a few values creating various shades of black and grey. Using a sumi brush, we will practice brush strokes, and explore techniques like wax resist, wet on wet, and salt, to see how they react to our ink washes. We will utilize all these methods to craft a painting of spooky textured trees.
