Workshop: Creating Through Grief
Date: Saturday, November 2nd
Time: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Join us for a deeply personal and powerful mixed media workshop dedicated to honoring the ones we’ve lost.
For me, painting serves as a working meditation—a vital tool for processing grief and loss.
Throughout history, artists have expressed their sorrow, love, and hope through their work. While no piece of art can bring back our loved ones, creating can be a profound way to navigate feelings of loss. In this safe and supportive space, you’ll have the opportunity to craft compositions inspired by the memories and passions of those you miss.
What to Expect:
We’ll explore the concept of personal remembrance through art, drawing inspiration from the Mexican tradition of Ofrendas. You don’t need to be an experienced artist; all that’s required is an open heart and a willingness to create. Using a transfer technique, I’ll guide you step by step in crafting your mixed media pieces.
What to Bring:
Please bring photo references of your loved one, along with items that evoke memories—objects, symbols, lyrics, or anything that reminds you of their life and passions.
This workshop is a chance for you to express thoughts and feelings that may feel overwhelming. Together, let’s honor our loved ones and create a space for healing through art.
I look forward to sharing this special event with you.
