Conte Crayon Demo Night

Discover the drawing medium used by the masters! Join us for a fun and inspiring evening exploring conte crayon — a richly pigmented, clay-based crayon known for its smooth texture and classic earthy tones like black, brown, and red. Unlike chalk, conte crayon is firmer and less prone to smudging or breaking, yet it still allows for bold, expressive mark-making.
In this hands-on demo night, you’ll learn how to draw with conte on toned paper — using the paper as your mid-tone while layering highlights and shadows to bring your artwork to life. We'll even experiment with adding water for wash effects!
Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned sketcher, this relaxed and social workshop is a great way to explore a timeless medium.
Bonus Challenge: Try drawing a self-portrait or sketch your date — just for fun!
